Saint Aidan's Parish Church, New Parks, Leicester
is the Church at which I am very proud to be Parish Priest since 2006
In the last two and a half years, the congregation has grown considerably. Last year we had a confirmation with the Bishop of Richborough that saw 28 candidates confirmed in one go. This was the largest to date that the Bishop had performed at that time in any one Church.
is the fellowship of young families that has grown over 200% in the last 2 years. We average between 20 and 30 children at Mass each Sunday and similar numbers at After School Church on a Thursday afternoon.
Bucking the trend?
Not only is our growth surprising to many who only hear about Church attendance in decline, but our congregation is both young and vibrant - the average age being much lower than the national average. Believing and belonging are going together well in New Parks.
Standing proudly and very firmly within the Catholic Tradition of the Church of England, we aim to proclaim the love of God to the people that we serve on the outer estates of Leicester.
